WEDDING FAQ’s
Why should I choose STUDIO C for my wedding?
The only thing that really survives your Wedding Day are the photographs. For
all the money you spend on catering, DJ, flowers, rehearsal dinner, and even
your wedding gown, only the images remain to tell the story of your day and
preserve the memories. STUDIO C provides breath-taking candid images to capture
every nuance of the day, and not just the usual ‘posed’ shots.
STUDIO
C elevates classic photography to the next level with a candid,
photojournalistic style and an Italian flair - including beautiful black and
white images in every package.
STUDIO C photographer Susan Centineo has won awards for Best Wedding Image, Best in Black and White, and has had images selected for publication by The Tuscarora Review and The Frederick News Post. She has also written for Studio Photography Magazine, and been selected as the Official Photographer for Frederick Fashion Week by the Cultural Arts Center.
Check out our LINKS page for links to her articles and published work.
Is there anything else I need
to know about
STUDIO C?
If our image galleries aren’t enough, then consider this: You’ll have professional, full-time photographers – not hobbyists or moonlighting wannabes – and you will also receive a higher level of service with us. STUDIO C will coordinate directly with your planner, caterer, florist, DJ, and other service providers to assure smooth photographic sailing and less headache and work for you in the final weeks and especially on your Wedding Day itself. STUDIO C also previews in advance your ceremony and reception location(s) to be fully prepared for the best shots.
What about Wedding Packages?
Where do they start in price, and can they be customized?
Our pricing is competitive but not cheap. You can find ‘cheap’ elsewhere, in every sense of the word. Regular packages – which are quite loaded -start at $2400. Currently most packages include a finished deluxe album, all images on CD, complete editing, unlimited Black and White, 2 photographers, two 4x6 parent flip books, and unlimited shots. Level Two includes an awesome DVD Photo Montage set to music – which has never yet failed to receive rave reviews. Package pricing goes up to our Platinum Level at $12,500, which includes a videographer, make-up artist, rehearsal dinner coverage, an amazing finished album, and much more. However, the majority of our clients find that Level One and Level Two packages are more than sufficient, and in fact are delighted at what comes standard.
We also offer a full menu of a la carte services that can be custom-designed.
I’m on a serious budget, and
really all I want is a high-resolution CD of images. What can you do for me?
We realize that some budgets are tight, and cannot accommodate any of our packages, and so we do offer a very simple service of professional coverage and a high-res CD, for $1800. Editing is included, and there is one photographer assigned, although usually there is an apprentice for extra images. We will still coordinate with your service providers and provide black and white images at NO EXTRA CHARGE.
I am interested … what do I
do now?
Call or email us as soon as possible, to be sure that we can reserve your date. You’ll make an appointment to meet with us in the Studio for a personal consultation. We’ll look at wedding images on our high-res DVD monitors, albums and framed images, so we can get a clear sense of your style and package preferences. We’ll talk about the timing of the day, the locations, and the size of the wedding party and the reception. Our goal is to get a clear picture of what you want, and form the initial plan to provide it. Booking your date involves a simple standard contract and a 50% deposit.
What happens after the
consultation and the contract?
After you book the date with STUDIO C, you can relax and we get to work. We will contact your service providers to coordinate everything with so that a smooth and stress-free day for you is assured. If your ceremony and/or reception locations are new to us, we may tour them to be familiar in advance, specifically to make note of the lighting, the best angles and backdrops to utilize, traffic patterns and so forth.
About a month before your wedding, we will contact you to touch base, find out about any changes, and answer any new questions that may have arisen. We will touch base will all service providers again to review the overall plan, as well as to find out if any contact people have changed, things like that – seemingly small but critical details. In the final week, we will check in with everyone again.
Do you shoot in digital or
film?
Good question! Even though our parent company Davis Studio shot film until only about a year ago, we now shoot almost exclusively in digital. Why? Because with film, every photo has to be developed, and there is a cost involved with hard-copy proofing. With digital, images can be viewed on our monitors without having to develop anything – which means that we do not have to limit the number of photos we take. We will take an unlimited of number of images at your wedding, and the ‘usual’ range is from 300 to 600 photographs. Additionally, digital images allow unlimited editing options, enhancements, and immediate conversion of color to black and white. We can also easily post all of your images online for you and your guests’ convenience in viewing.
When do I receive proofs?
We ask that you allow a full four to six weeks to allow for professional editing and a proof CD. Around the same time, we'll post your photographs on a web site in a password-protected area. You, and anyone else you choose, can view your pictures. Once you choose your photos for albums, etc., you can usually expect the finished products within 2-4 weeks.
If your package includes an album, one of the members from our creative team will contact you after your wedding to discuss your specific album interests. We will review the album with you for your approval before final printing.
Susan Centineo and Brandon Riggs do all editing, perfectionists that they are. But if you are in a real hurry, there may be a $250 fee especially if we have to send them out for editing.
When is final payment due?
Final payment is due one week before the ceremony. Images will not be edited, processed, or any proofs issued, without a final payment. We accept most major credit cards, check, or money order; and there is a 5% discount for cash.
Can I choose my own
photographer from your staff?
Generally speaking, yes. It all depends on who is already booked. We have enough staff to do a MAXIMUM of 3-4 weddings on any given day, and our Senior Staff are booked first. So, if you want the senior photographers, book early! However, don’t worry; our entire staff consists of professional, experienced, seasoned wedding photographers who must complete a lengthy and strenuous apprenticeship with us prior to being sent out to any wedding. You will meet your photographer however, prior to the wedding date, so you know who you’re working with and can be fully comfortable.
*NOTE: By mid-2008, there will be a $500 premium if you want Susan Centineo specifically. BOOK NOW and avoid this premium charge!
Are there any hidden costs?
None. All terms of the contract are agreed upon in writing, in advance. If you want extra hours, or require that we travel in excess of 30 miles, or want a rush on your proofs, there will be minimal charges of course, but you’ll know about them up front. Tax is not included in our package prices.
Do you do coffee table
albums, flushmount albums, engagement sittings, engagement boards, announcement
photos, rehearsal dinner coverage, DVD Photo Montage to music, or other
services?
Yes to all. We have a menu of a la carte services and options to include these items and more. Any a la carte service receives a 25% discount when you are also purchasing any wedding package.
